"Shall We Dance?"

I Just enjoyed a 1995 Japanese movie called "Shall We Dance?" Koji Yakusho played the lead with a number of excellent female actresses. The dancing was great. Dance, and relationship of the dancers to it, was the true star.

We Remember Their Names

They came in this order: Fir Bolg -- Fomorians -- Tuatha De Danann -- Milesians

The made Ireland their home.

Ethlinn

Ethlinn is an important feminine name in the early hist of the people of Ireland. Three example of the many variations of the name are Ena, Ethniu, Eithne. At the moment Ethlinnn seems the most congenial to me.

I'll call my notions of the story of Ethlinn, history. Others have called it myth or of a religious nature. Others still have called it just a story.

Stories are great, but Here I intend to only briefly outline my understanding of Ethlinn's place in history.

Her place is just between two important peoples of early Ireland, the Fomorian are one and the Tuatha De Danann the other. I believe that they were both on the island before the steel carrying Celts. I think it well to call both of these early peoples carriers of bronze Age cultures. The Danann may be important to the origins of people called Sheehan.

Our Ethlinn is the daughter of a Fomorian leader called Balor. She came to know a man called Cian and was the son of Dian Cecht of the Tuatha De Danann. Cian and Ethlinn married and produced a son who was called Lugh. I've written of the bog Lug in earlier posts.

That's it, Cian and Ethlinn through their marriage join two important peoples of earlier Ireland.

It would not be correct to say that they lived happily ever after. Still, their joining has been important to to the formation of the Irish people.

Ethlinn and here story may be associated with Tory Island, leanan sidhe, Birog, Gavida, Manannan mac Lir, the Dagda, strife, Ogma, Fir Bolg, Teltown and much more. Sidhe means something like 'the magic person of the fairy mounds' and is some times pronounced shee, which is the sigular of Sheehan.

The Government We Deserve. The Government We Have Earned

A government is moving away from being one of, by, and for the people
and toward being one to the people, or in spite of the majority of the people.
Is it not, then, the people who are responsible?

Zinc

Seems most of us get plenty of zinc in our diets and that the zinc we do get is usually well balanced by our intact of other metallic minerals,

Foods with particularly abundant amounts of bio available zinc include:
oysters
beef pot roast
ground beef
turkey
pumpkin seeds

Bowel Prep Kit

Locked myself out of the house this morning. Car was locked and key was in the house.

Walked to the fire station and rang the bell. No answer. knocked on the door. No answer. Knocked on all the windows and doors available to me. No answer. Banged on the door. Nothing. My plan was not to disturb the firemen nor to exercise myself. I thought that the firemen might help me by letting me use a phone to call a locksmith.

Continued walking. Entered a real estate office run by the widow of the realtor who brokered the deal when I bought this house. She helped me find the number of a locksmith and to dial that number. I had locked my glasses in the house.

The locksmith said that he was on the low desert, but could be back in the area in less than an hour, probably.

Continued walking. Went to the drugstore to pick up a "bowel prep kit" for my coming procedure.

I am in the house now. Paid the locksmith $60, cash.

Health Blog

Seem to have lost heart for keeping up my health blog. Never was much of a blog anyway.

Can't Get to the Drugstor by Myself

No longer am I able to travel by myself. Now it seems I am no longer able to go to the Drugstore by myself.
This morning I headed for Algodones on the boarder. Took care or a few errands locally. The last two were to pick up cash a bank ATM and put gas in the old Astro. As I left the ATM I was called to by a man just a bit younger than I. He had my ATM card in his hand. I thanked him and headed for the gas station. Then I drove down 62 to 10, west on ten, cut over to 8, and on west toward Yuma. Turned south on the Andrade/Algodones cut off, past the new casino across the canal, and began the turn into the Indian parking lot. I was just than that I remembered that I had forgotten my passport. Turn around and headed home. Only got lost once.
I'll try again in the morning.

This is not the first time I have forgotten passport on this trip. Nor is it the first time I nearly lost my debit card. It is the first time I did both on the same trip.
I do have the excuse of being sick and headachy on this trip. However, I have been either sick or headachy or both most of the time for the last two years.
Might be getting close to time to give up.
