Ibn Khaldun is one of those who brought Arabic scholarship and wisdom to the West along with the learning of the Persians and Greeks.

Western scholars have called him the father of Sociology and the initiator of contemporary demography.

British historian Arnold J. Toynbee called Ibn Khaldu's main historical work, "the greatest work of its kind that has ever yet been created by any mind in any time or place."

British philosopher, Robert flint wrote of Khaldun that, "As a theorist of history he had no equal in any age."
