My name is Richard Caroll Sheehan.
My father's name was Carroll Joseph Sheehan.
My grandfather's name was Joseph Carroll Sheehan.
I'm pretty sure my paternal great grandfather was M. William Sheehan, but I know very little about him. He was probably born in Ireland about 1839. I believe he married Mary J. Carroll in DesMoines Co, IA in about 1860.
I'd be very pleased for any information related to M. William Sheehan.

Richard, you can be assured anyone who descends from Carroll Joseph Sheehan 1908-1958 [a.k.a. Joseph Carroll Sheehan] is a direct descendant of M. William Sheehan ca 1839-1912.

ReplyDeleteGenealogy - where to begin? First it's THE GREAT DETECTIVE HUNT where you learn geography, history, cultures. You learn to glean info from public records at courthouses and libraies, and church. In addition to all these neat perks, you learn something about those who came before you and have put you on this earth. aaait sure makes them more human when you read aout their baptism in church records, pour over death records, talk to cementary personnel, see them listed among millions on census records. We are passionnate when it comes to genealogy.
