Health thoughts prompted by a consideration of the dear, crane, and turtle symbols of classic Tao:

There is a Taoist art or practice some call Chi-kung or internal energizing exercises. Chi-kung exercises combined with meditative and breathing techniques may form a useful self-healing system. These internal exercises are probably more important and useful than are ones regular external exercises and may be profitable to continue when one is not continuing what one may consider ones regular exercises regime. An online search may start you on the the path of these exercises.

Go on, go far, return, follow the laws.

If you decide to try one or more of the deer, crane, or turtle related exercises I recommend that you determine to stay with the exercise you choose for more than three months, or twice that, if you would benefit. Why do we do that?

Personalizing Thoughts About Indians.

I started thinking about American Indians and A Greek Sociology professor and came up with the following curious thoughts.

On Considering the Bible

Man has seen law as bipartite for a very long time. Part of law refers to ones obligations to society. Another part of law refers to human observation of the repeating processes in nature. Looking at examples from history, it seems science may have developed more readily from polytheistic religion and that may be due to similarities between fate and natural law.

Proverb is a useful key for success in life. Proverb is a repository for wisdom. Wisdom and knowledge are not the same. Wisdom contains more potential for being able to deal appropriately with that which may happen. Knowledge seems more applicable to the particular and the actual.

Nineveh is a name for Assyria of visa versa.

Wisdom is dealt with in Ecclesiastes. It seems to be dealt with energetically. Koheleth, the editor, seems a vigorous realist. He seems to appreciate and open mind. As many wise me do, ha has collected Proverbs. ("Never a borrower or lender be.") He seems to see foggy thinking as a major sin. Like most wise men, he values detachment without withdrawal. He seems to believe that our ability to detect the cyclical rhythm in nature is to be understood and used for our benefit. Koheleth seems to use a concept related to mystery, obscurity, eternity as a path beyond linear thought. He seems a man who believes: "That which is worth doing is worth doing well." "Better is the sight of the eyes than the wandering of the desires." "Its best to by joyful." "Rejoice and play all over the earth." "Love of wisdom is creative."

At what point can we no linger tell the dancer form the dance?

Air, light, spirit see to refer to energy, perhaps a knowing energy. The invisible is the source of the visible and somehow an opportunity for human energy.

In Iraq

It is remembered that lightning can cover the land like a cloth.

In its democracy of 5000 years ago, power rested in a general assembly of all the voters. In their cities of the time in the southern reaches of the Fertile Crescent Mesopotamian art and literature were well developed.

There, listening and hearing was the mark of intelligence. Political discussion was called 'asking one another.' To have ones ears wide open was to hear the wisdom of God.

People knew that existence was movement and configuration, activity and godly dance.

Purity was valued.

People there understood that man could be godly enough to enter into the identity of the great cosmic forces of the universe, and sway them by action. Men, then knew that their entering and action was best done with cooperation, respect, reverence, humility, and their greatest wisdom.

Law was respected and justice valued.

Perhaps 2000 years later Greeks began to learn some of the same things.

About 1500 years after the Greeks we began to know some of those things.

Who Risked Their Sacred Honors?

We have more than a social contract with each other through our Constitution. You and I and all of us have a sacred covenant between and among our selves. When we do not honor, uphold, enforce, and support our laws we dishonor our sacred covenant. We need to honor and uphold our agreement until we formally and honorably decide to change that agreement. If we do not enforce our laws until we agree to change them, we are not we. It takes a while to destroy a we.
I saw in 1954 that our immigration laws were not enforced. Now I see the rich and powerful openly scoff at our immigration laws. Where is the we in that? Where the honor? Where the sacred?

Situations

A knowledge of history moves one to a truer more effective understanding of the action of cause and effect in a fine variety of situations.


Now, just what is history? I know a guy that by early afternoon says, "Lunch is history." Does that mean that 'history is lunch?'

Is there a law of cause and effect?

My Innocence my Guilt

My ancestors have said that I am innocent. They have said that I am innocent until proven guilty. How am I to be proven guilty? I do not, according to my ancestors, need to be proven innocent. According to them, I am innocent
So then, the question seems to be, "How is my guilt to be proven?"

To attempt to answer this question I need to establish what I mean by "guilt" and what I mean by "proof." And/or to establish what my ancestors have meant by "guilt" and "proof."
I see that proof and guilt, according to the ways of humanity, have to do with law. So I need also to be clear about the meaning of "law."

To preserve my innocence, I must be clear about what I mean by:
"law,"
"guilt,"
"proof."

I must find others who agree how we are to do: proof, guilt, law.
How is such clarity to be gained?
How is such agreement to be accomplished?
For what am I responsible?
Who are these others on whom I am to depend?
