Or, Am I History?

I'd like to know you, dear reader.
Id like to know more about you to better serve you, dear reader.
Dear reader, I'd like to know what you like.
Is there anything unusual or different that I might know or like that you might like to read about here?
Please fell free to tell me 'yes,' 'no,' or 'go to hell.'
I'd love to hear from you.

Who Are You?

I don't know who you are. I don't know anything about you? I don't know what you like? I don't know any of your interests, values, fears, problems, loves, convictions.

One reason I am having trouble writing to you is that I don't have any idea of who you are.

As you can tell, by checking out the posts on this blog, I don't know much about health. I will add that I am more motivated to learn of things little related to health than I am to learn about health.

So, a second reason I have trouble writing to you is my lack of knowledge about health.

Yet, I can sincerely say, that I'd like to see you have a better chance for better health. I also assure you that I want to increase my chances for better health.

I am willing to continue this blog a bit longer on the chance of: getting to know you; learning to write a bit more helpfully; learning a bit more about health; giving us a better chance of maintaining better health.

Brown Cow Meditation

Power corrupts.
Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

You have probably heard something very like the above.
What does it have to do with you and me?

There are examples.

What kind of power is our opening sentence most likely about?
What might the corruption be like there?
What might be the nature of that corruption?

How do you detect corruption?
How do you avoid corruption?
How do you handle your power?

What has mankind tried to do about the corrupting influence of power?

You know that power is 'good' in that it can be helpful and useful.
You know that power is 'bad' in that it can be hurtful and destructive.

There is power potential in fire or in a hammer. What rules have we developed to support the good and limit the bad in hammers and fire?

There is a power potential in military and political organizations. what rules has mankind developed to potentiate the good in such organizations and limit the bad?

We give (delegate) power to others every day. What rules do we have for limiting the corrupting influences to which they are exposed?

Where might a corrupting influence be at work?

What rules do we have for keeping ourselves good?
Accentuate the positive, eliminate the negative.
How now?

When Does One Have Enough

Information to act is necessary before ones actions are likely to move a situation in a positive direction.
How do you care?
What information do you need to act effectively?
How do you get the information you want?
When do you want to care?
Who needs care?
Who deserves care

I'm thinking that I might benefit by taking these questions more personally. For example: How do I care for my fellow citizens?
How do I care for my neighbors.
What care does my family need.
What caring action will I take today

What You Don't Know

What you don't know will hurt you.

What you don't know is hurting you and others this instant.

There is no love in willful ignorance.

You can cooperate to stop the hurt.

Remember What We Can Do

You and I are responsible for our civil liberties.
Our covenant with each other is the source of our rights.
We claim our rights by using them.
The rights less used, are usually those most likely to be lost.
Good men have said that our liberty to choose and our right to claim are God given.

Let's be clear about the promises we have made each other about the following rights:
~ the right to timely and useful information(to be well informed)
~ the right to a clean and safe environment(to lessen disease and war)
~ the right to competent government oversight(to lessen ignorance)

Let's wisely take responsibility for our rights and use them as wisely as we are able.

Your War, Your President, Your Economy

Do you know why we should get our military out of Afghanistan right now?
Why not? Why don't you know?
Shall we force Pakistani parents to sacrifice their youth to a needless war?

Who wants to see our President destroy his potential for good by pretending to fight an impossible war on terror?
You know that war is made only on human beings, don't you?
You know that our present wars are waged on men, women, and children.

You know that for each civilian you have our Young men kill that you raise a hundred enemies against us.
Didn't we once learn something about sowing dragons teeth?
Didn't we once learn about reaping the hurricane?

Let's stop killing civilians and start education our youth and retrain our workforce.

Not Bush, not Obama, us.

Mislead

As I have the leaders I have earned; why am I mislead?

How well are you lead?

Terrorists

If you are an America, as I am.
If you believe that we still have a republic, as I do.
If you believe that we have had pretensions to democracy, as I do.
Then, can you think of any way we can reasonably claim that we are not terrorists?
