Pitt River Purity

The following is my paraphrase of the words of Elder Craven Gibson as interpreted by Darryl Babe Wilson in "The Californians."

"It-Spo-Iotsi" is from the Ajunan-wi language of Pitt River People. It is pretty close to the the English word "truth." It means straight talk. More, it is a spiritual agreement with the self to speak the truth. It is a hallmark of true humanity. It-Spo-Iotsi is truth made visible by living in a good way and cherishing life.

It is good to know that the cleanliness of truth is.

Pitt River People know that the Sacramento Valley was once a great lake 'as long as the land.' They know that an earthquake opened the coastal range, allowing that great water to drain into the pacific. When it did, there was San Francisco Bay and in it Shinning Rock Island, Alcatraz. A truth was there.

When Pitt River People were taken away by force in many directions, some were taken to Alcatraz. Truth will set us free. The Mouse Brothers may have brought a strong consciousness of truth to the Pitt River People from Alcatraz, Shinning Rock Island. Truth must be understood, appreciated, and acknowledged.

8500 BC, 8000 BC

8500 BC
Men in South America had already developed a technology for the cultivation of gourds and peppers. What else was going on then?

8000 BC
Remains of a lakeside dwelling in central Oregon buried and preserved by the erupting of Mount Mazama showed that people there probably ate sage, bison, rabbi, bear, sheep, elk, choke berries, hazelnuts, and blackberries. How does your diet compare to theirs? These same people used baskets and wore sandals. I bet they helped their children to a similar diet and skill set.
In Nevada people hunted many species of large game including the ground sloth and the mammoth. Native Americans tell of these hunts in songs, chants, and stories. An 'atlatl,' the spear thrower was used to hunt these large animals and had been used to hunt such large beasts far back into the preceding Ice Age. Bow and arrow and atlatl and spear technologies were quite different. Native Americans developed and used excellent ways to pass on the 'hows and whys' of their technologies. My we do as well.
The most recent Ice Age was truly over and humans were eating chiltepines in Mexico. Mexicans eat them today. Be cautious if you intend to follow their example.
There is again the development of framing an settled village life in Anatolia. There may have been close decedents of Noah in those villages.

Are you intereste in these times? earlier times? later times? Why? Why not?

The Pueblo revolt of 1680 probably began at the Taos Pueblo. "Revolt" here refers to the organized and focused resistance of the non-nomadic natives of the Rio Grand area against the Hispanic colonists settling along the Rio Grand river, mostly in what is now New Mexico.
Most of the Spaniards with the resources to do so, retreated to Mexico. Others scattered. Some even marrying into nomadic tribes.

Pope was probably the most important Indian leader of that rebellion.

Spaniards returned to the Rio Grand valley of what is now New Mexico in 1692 under the leadership of Diego de Vargas.

Spain's power was beginning to decline and the upper Rio Grand was probably her most remote colony. Taos was supplied by land over a 2000 mile trail from Mexico City. So the defenders of th Colonists faced native opposition of superior numbers who were often better mounted and armed then they. The spainards fought with lance and bow as did the Pueblos.
