Another Breathing Exercise
Here is a exercise I've tried, but not done regularly. Allow me to address it to you.
a) lie on your back,knees up, feet flat on floor. Support head and shoulders on a pillow.
b) Relax. Breathe slowly and deeply through the nose, allowing the air to fill the lower part of your lungs. In doing so push abdomen downward and upward so that it appears to rise above the level of your chest. See that the air is allowed to flow to the bottom of your lungs.
c) Once the lower portion of your lungs is filled with air, hold the position for a few seconds, and then slowly contract the abdomen and lower the ribs, exhaling strongly at the same time.
d) Try counting to, say, 4 as you inhale, 2 as you hold, and 6 as you exhale.
e) Continue this round for 10 to 15 times.

Breathing Exercises
Everything done on purpose in life in which one is aware of breathing might correctly be called a breathing exercise. I want to list here only the exercises in which breathing seems to be the main focus. Still my choices are, of course, arbitrary.
The first exercise I am listing is a boarderline case.
ba:
Tighten abdominal muscle while breathing.
~ Stand with your arms stretched out in from of the body slightly above chest level, palms down.
~ Inhale completely, so that your lungs fill with air and the chest expands.
~ Then begin to exhale slowly; using mainly the abdominal muscles to force air out of the lungs.
~ As you exhale, slowly drop your arms to your sides and tighten your abdominal muscles as much as you can.
~ Bring arms up as you inhale.
~ repeat about seven times.
~ Practice until you are breathing smoothly and rhythmically.

A beautiful Morning
Its a beautiful morning on this shore of Lake Titikaka. Im in the Hotel Rosario which is probably the best hotel in Copacabana. I have been lucky enough to get the best suit in the hotel. It has been quiet enough for me to sleep well.
Im here on a tour and have found my guide and taveling companions a delight.
I am disquited to dis cover that I have not been able to keep up with 60 year olds on walks. My oxigen intake seems to be my problem. Ever since that dose of something from the air conditioning on the flight from Motetevieo to Santiago and my subsequet lung problems I havre been left short of breath evn in my home on the desert. Here in the high Andes ther is no hiding from the reality of my diminished powers of oxegen intake.
Took a boat trip to the Island of the Sun yester day and walked to some ruins at which regular cerimonies take place to this day.
