India Is Big

India is big in population, area, variety.....
My first hours of my only visit to India were spent lost on streets on the outskirts of Bombay. In a matter of hours I escaped to Sri Lanka. I enjoyed Sri Lanka.

I'll need a lot of help to make a pleasant stay in India.

My ignorance of the country is my biggest problem. I have thought to start by trying to research some cities smaller than Cennai/Madras.

For luck I've selected seven more or less at random:
Thirovagoor, Madurai, Lucknoow, Thanjavur, Jamshedpur, Vijayangara, Chandigarth.
I'd like to find a comfortable city with great air quality.

Possible Destinations

I've listed about 70 countries as tentative destination for a long visit.
It seems that I have been using the following to choose among them:
Inexpensive,
Comfortable,
Interesting,
air quality,
expat living.

I don't feel motivated to type out all seventy. I will type out some. The following made the list, but seem least likely to be a destination in the near future: Yemen, UK, So. Africa, Samoa, Russia, Malawi, Moldova, Lebanon, Jamaica, Haiti, Australia, Luxembourg, Chile, Dominica, Estonia, Finland, Fiji, France. All of the above are still on the list.

At the top of today's list are:
Honduras,
Argentina,
India,
Uruguay,
Ecuador.
So far, Ecuador is my most likely destination!
Looks like I have a bias for Latin America.
However, my bias may be for air quality.
Still, low cost of living is vary important.
Have you suggestions for countries to ad to the list?
Have you conmments or information about the countries mentioned?
Have you any questions?

Sitting on a Veranda

I'm in Ciudad Hidalgo, Michoacan waiting to have some washing and ironing done. Cd Hidalgo has good air quality and is surrounded by forest of mostly pine. It is also close to some hot water spas I have visited on earlier trips.
I'm in what was typical of high end motels in Mexico. There is beautifully kept landscaping and gardens. It is a one story affair in the form of a long "U." In the center surrounded by decorative walks is a long reflecting pool.
Nearest the closed end of the "U" is a two story 'bandstand.' On the bottom story is displayed the ruins of an old horse-drawn wagon.
I'm sitting on a veranda which is about 30 feet wide and very long. I look from the comfortable cool of the veranda onto the the fresh sunlit scene before me.
The rooms are just okay. Still the bedding was a bit 'upscale' and it was quiet here last night. Silence is golden and I am grateful for it. In the back there is a swimming pool growing a pretty light green algae in its low water.

Opinions

Our opinions are wonderously valuable gifts.
I'd love to hear your opinion on any topic. Topics that seem very important to me just now are: blogs, international law, national law, mass media, a particularly good film or video, water retention in the human body, atmosphric air quality, genes, genealogy, love, and more.

Being Here

I´ve begun shopping around for a flight home, probably LAX. Flights are expensive.

Thought it would be a good idea to by a ticket before I lost my last atm card. Total flight will be well over $800. I remember taking a cruize ship for a very similar trip for about $150. Less than 2 years ago I made a bit longer S Am trip for just over $400.

My fixed income is looking small.

I still expect to have time to make the pilgimage to Copacabana and look around a bit better.

Good air quality here for such a large city. Winnapeg, Canada also has good air but is a lot smaller.
