I have mentioned one of my great grandfathers, M. William Sheehan in two previous posts.
My sister Gerry, the family genealogist, says that her research shows that the "M" in M. William Sheehan stands for Mago, and she is a woman who stands behind her research. So, the name is Mago William Sheehan, Mago Sheehan.
My great grandfather is Mago Bill.
Cool!

Richard, you are as bad as our Cousin MaryEllen. While she and I plus our great hubbies were in the 6th Street Cemetary in Burlington looking for our great-great-grandparents Martin CARROLL and Margaret Cuz ME called out, "Marty, it's your great-great-granddaughters MaryEllen and Gerry. We are looking for you - if you want us to find you let us know." Well, Cuz ME calling our g-g-grandfather Marty made me blink a time or two at her familiarity. Well, I guess 'Marty' didn't mind because just at that moment we found their headstones.
ReplyDeleteAnd, now you are referring to our great-grandfather - our immigrant great-grandfather - Mago Bill * ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
I practice familiarity with family.
ReplyDeletePerhaps I should say, "Great grandfather, Mago Bill, sir."
