My Health Blog

I've deleted my Health Blog. I'll do most health related posting here in "A Journal" from now on.

This Blog is Not Accepting My Comments

I've just tried, twice to respond to a comment to the post Cherry Blossoms. What I tried to say was that ------I expected that I would try audio books again some day and that I had just begun to use a local public library after not having done so for years. I said that I was reading two library books at present. One is "The song of Hiawatha and Other Poems" by Longfellow. Said that I believed that I had probably called him Wordsworth. Mentioned that "Gerry" probably remembered Gitchi Gumi.
The second book looks to be one of the best works I have ever read. It's "The Muqaddimah: An Introduction to History" by Ibn Khaldun, translated by Franz Rosethal and edited and abridged by N. J. Dawood. I added that perhaps I just liked abridged and condensed books that the Hiawatha book was put out by The Reader's Digest Association.

History Is Here Now

Just watched the film "Everything is Illuminated" directed by Liev Schreiber. Worthwhile as an illumination of our condition and an interesting treatment of the material. Listed artists are Elijah Wood, Eugene Hutz, and Boris Leskin. I believe it was largely filmed in Ukraine.

Cherry Blossoms

Just enjoyed the German Film, Cherry Blossoms. It takes place in Germany and Japan. It deals with grief and reality and relationship from a novel and attractive perspective. I was ignorant of the artists: Elmar Wepper, Hannelore Elsner, Maxmillian Bruckner, and Nadja Uhl. So much English was used that the sub-titles were little needed.

Don't

When I feel bad, frustrated, upset, angry, down. I often find it good to don't. When I just don't know what to do; I don't.
I don't recall. I don't imagine. I don't think. I don't examine. I don't control.
I'm not sure how I don't. I'm sure I don't don't perfectly. I do know that when I intend to don't, I feel better.
I have found the following helpful:
  • Don't recall: let go of what has passed.
  • Don't imagine: let go of what may come.
  • Don't think: let go of what is happening now.
  • Don't examine: don't try to figure anything out.
  • Don't control: don't try to make anything happen.
  • Rest: Relax right now and rest.

Haiti First.

Haiti is one of the two republics on the island of Hispaniola. The other is the Dominican Republic.
Hispaniola lies about 100 miles from Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

Haiti has an area of about 11,000 square miles and a population of about 8,400,000 which is about 95% black. You may get more information of this sort at www.haitifocus.com . The Dominican Republic is a bit larger and has a population which is about 3/4 Creole.
Haitians created the first black led republic in the word. It is the second republic created in the New World. Looking at Haiti's history it seems that from its inception until very recently that most leaders of the Western world have intended to crush it or to keep it well ground down.

Even recently it seems that the UN supported the US in depriving the people of Haiti of their most popular elected president.

The U S blockaded Haiti from the day it freed itself from its colonial masters.

Thoughts About "Govern" Post

It seems that most individuals take some pleasure in governing their bodies to some extent.

A body politic may be called a single, whole, organized gathering of human beings.

To rule myself, It seems I must get myself together and get organized. Guess I'd benefit by reviewing what I know about the nature of organization.

The art of civil administration is called politics. 'Politics' is used to refer to the affairs of the body politic. The things we do as citizens is called politics.

As individuals and in groups we are guided, directed, and steered through life in various ways. We sometimes attend to those ways which seem to work for us.

We mostly agree that we are not completely rudderless.

Govern

What question have you that might relate to 'govern?'
Below are some questions that come to me about "govern" recently:
  • What does it mean to govern oneself?
  • How do they guide themselves?
  • How might I better guide myself?
  • How do we govern ourselves?
  • How can we guide ourselves?
  • What does it mean to rule oneself?
  • What ought we teach our children about governing?
  • Who are we to govern?
  • Why would we rule ourselves?
  • Where might I guide myself?
  • When ought they rule themselves?
  • What does it mean to exercise on-going sovereign authority over you?
  • Who do we govern?
  • What is governance?
  • What is government?
  • What is sovereign authority?
  • Who is the main ruler in your life?
  • Who rules your state?
  • Who says you must pay taxes?
  • What does responsibility have to do with rule.
  • What does direction and orientation have to do with governing?
  • What can you do about it?
  • What's authority?
  • Where is the House of Representatives getting its authority?
  • Who does it seem ought to have the power to decide and determine?
  • Who are the top creators in their lives?
  • How do you cooperate with them?
  • How do the cooperate with you?
  • What do you use for a rudder?
  • Who steers your ship?
  • What does the "ship of state" have to do with a metaphor?
  • Where do you stand?
  • What is a body politic?
  • When might it be politic to ask?
  • When is a politician a bad person?
  • What is a politician?
  • How might a politician be an aid in governance?
  • When did politics become something to avoid?
  • Which responsibilities are best avoided?
  • What do citizens do about their affairs now?
  • How do you know when it is your affair?
  • Where is their body politic?
  • What state are they in.
  • I what way are we in this boat together?
