Tax Dollars at Work

To the extent that we form a government of the people, by the people, and for the people, I am willing to pay plenty of taxes. I am willing to pay more taxes than ever. However a government that makes secrete plans for seemingly immoral ways to manipulate the opinion of the people in favor of various wars does not seem to be of, by, and for my people.

Has a government of, by, and for the people, kept life and death secretes from itself? How can we govern ourselves when we don;'t know what we are doing?

Have you checked into Northwoods, or the Northwoods Operation? Do you remember the Main?

Avocado Oil

Avocado oil is not only very good for ones health, but also has a very high smoke point. Its high smoke makes it more appropriate for cooking than other oils with a lower smoke point. Chilean food quality is expensive at 50 cents an once.
Can you tell us where to bu it for less?

Have you heard that capsicum cream used to help counter pain and inflammation may also greatly reduce cardiac damage if used shortly after a heart attach. Who can tell us how topical application of such a cream might protect heart tissue or reopen blocked blood vessels? Who can tell me how to make a safe and effective cream I can try on myself?

Milk That Cow In Comfort

There seems to have been a certain continuity of Bronze Age culture between about 2000 BC and 1000 BC in what we now call Scandinavia and north western Europe.

During that period people and animals were housed together in what we may call Longhouses. The milk cow was very important. Milk with it's by-products was an important dietary item. Cheese was made. During or just prior to this period a gene against lactose intolerance my have emerged amongst these people. Cows may have been kept inside to encourage continuation of milk production through cold winters.

These people may have been raiders and subject to raids by others.

The above mentioned practices were found among Saxons and Frisians of a later date.

Around 1500 BC

There was notable seismic upheaval.

The Shang dynasty in China was in full career. Beginning with the Shang we have well documented history of China. Great bronze work was being done. A dictionary of 40,000 characters was printed.

Tin was being mined in England. Phoenicians transported tin from mines in England to places around the Mediterranean. Phoenicians became the predominant trading power in the Mediterranean area.

The library in the Hittite capital had tablets in eight languages.

The Rig- Veda was written in India.

Chiapas de Carzo, an early settlement in Mexico, was founded.

The Dorians conquered the Peloponesus of Greece.

Hammurabi, king of Babylon, published his famous law cod. The Hmmurabic code included guidelines for medical practices and permissible fees for surgeries and treatments. Babylonians were using highly developed geometry as a basis for astronomical measurements. The Zodiac was used as a teaching tool.

Amenemhet III had the Great Labyrinth of Egypt built. A first Suez canal was probably built at this time. Contraceptives were in use in Egypt. A series of labor strikes occurred at Thebes.

Speaking of Labyrinths, the first palace of Minos at Knossos, Crete was built. Minos palace had light and air shafts as well as bathrooms with running water.

Troy was.

My Health Blog

I've deleted my Health Blog. I'll do most health related posting here in "A Journal" from now on.

This Blog is Not Accepting My Comments

I've just tried, twice to respond to a comment to the post Cherry Blossoms. What I tried to say was that ------I expected that I would try audio books again some day and that I had just begun to use a local public library after not having done so for years. I said that I was reading two library books at present. One is "The song of Hiawatha and Other Poems" by Longfellow. Said that I believed that I had probably called him Wordsworth. Mentioned that "Gerry" probably remembered Gitchi Gumi.
The second book looks to be one of the best works I have ever read. It's "The Muqaddimah: An Introduction to History" by Ibn Khaldun, translated by Franz Rosethal and edited and abridged by N. J. Dawood. I added that perhaps I just liked abridged and condensed books that the Hiawatha book was put out by The Reader's Digest Association.

History Is Here Now

Just watched the film "Everything is Illuminated" directed by Liev Schreiber. Worthwhile as an illumination of our condition and an interesting treatment of the material. Listed artists are Elijah Wood, Eugene Hutz, and Boris Leskin. I believe it was largely filmed in Ukraine.

Cherry Blossoms

Just enjoyed the German Film, Cherry Blossoms. It takes place in Germany and Japan. It deals with grief and reality and relationship from a novel and attractive perspective. I was ignorant of the artists: Elmar Wepper, Hannelore Elsner, Maxmillian Bruckner, and Nadja Uhl. So much English was used that the sub-titles were little needed.
